I'm not sure yet which Artefacts and Command Abilities go where, but I think this is a fair place to start. I'll need to find a suitable Darkoath Chieftain next. For 2000+ points, I'm considering adding a Hellcannon and a small unit of Chaos Warriors, but I'll need to play a few games before I commit to that strategy.

Ruthartkk's Beginnings

The times has come to strike out, the mighty Ogre thought, and free myself of the shackles from the servitude of these snacks.

Rutharkk has survived much in his centuries of service.  He was a hunter for Svard during the Age of Myth before the vaults were opened and Everwinter pursued the clans.  He had fought alongside the Kingdom of Man during the Age of Chaos, but found his quarry to be lacking in this new age.  Order and Chaos always at eachother's throats only made each target more opportunistic for an enterprising third party.  The only way to truly gain station in this world would be to take it himself.  And the only way to do this, as Rutharkk saw, would be to gather a new Alfrostun!

Gathering such a host would be a challenging task, but the first task would be in finding his fitting steed.  To travel so far to the northern reaches would take longer than he cared to think about, especially given that there are so few direct routes with towns(folk) on the way to provide meals.  He did know of one way, however.  The Great (and mostly empty) Halls of Tarrakus were only a few months' journey, and there was a mighty statue of a Stonehorn.  These worthless humans don't know what they're sitting on, shuddered the ogre.  You see the empty fortress was useless as a quarry for reclamation, but a Stonehorn would have seen this as a buffet.  Without a rider, the Stonehorn would go dormant, and it's bones and skin would then coalesce into solid rock until it was chipped apart.

After taking his massive club and cleaver to task, the stone began chipping away, and a loud thump echoed through the halls.  Rutharkk could have been described as giddy at the sound, if there had been any witnesses, and was invigorated to continue his beatings against the statue.  More pieces chipped off and the skin of the Stonehorn hidden underneath was finally exposed.  The beast let out a resounding roar heard miles around.

With his rider, the Stonehorn crashed through the walls of the Great Hall, as there is no time to worry about doors when a hunt is on.  It was now Rutharkk's duty to provide a feast and entice warriors into his host to grow the Alfrostun and draw Gorkamorka's attention, and more importantly, draw the boon of Everwinter to his back.

The Response

Though the War-Slaves of Ast'arath took the initiative with an early march, the land itself would not sit idle as the despoilers desecrated the forest. One of the Sons of Durthu roused itself in response, ancient boughs creaking ominously. Known by many names over countless decades, Bog Wrath would be what his foes would know him by now.

The land that Bog Wrath moved through was grim, more swamp than forest. He had gladly answered Alarielle's call after the Splintering, joy returning to his heartwood for the first time in memory. The unending warfare and time away from his brethren had taken it's toll though. Bog Wrath still serves the Everqueen with unflinching loyalty, but he prefers to march alongside those of the Dreadwood Wargrove now, assisting Drycha in caring for the Outcasts.

Calling through the worldroots, Bog Wrath could sense various spitelings and some far ranging Kurnoth, but they were distant and near torpor as autumn grew close to winter. They would take time to respond, but so be it, he would take the fight to the despoilers himself. No, he thought, there was one group of spitelings nearby, led by a particularly bloodthirsty shadestalker name Urski. Bog Wrath called to Urski, promising her more interesting prey than the poor huntsman they were disemboweling.

Through the darkness melodies of the spirit-song, Bog Wrath heard Urski's howling, keening reply. They were coming and would arrive in time. Bog Wrath knew the patience of centuries. There would be time to wait and attack once Urski's band arrived.

Introduction

The Dreamer's Vault Games in Burnsville, MN, has recently been rent asunder by the glorious return of Sigmar from the Celestial Realms. A few of us regulars have responded by gathering our armies, emptying our wallets, and painting our little plastic soldiers up just right.

This, then, shall be a chronicle of that uncanny age. Dreamer's Vault is now the Dread Vault, forever changed when Sigmar opened the Gates of Azyr and ... Well, you know, all that fluffy stuff. Really, I'm just hoping to show off the stuff I've made for it, and give my friends a platform to do the same.

Without further ado, this is my beginning Path to Glory Warband.
